Which new Doctor do you prefer? |
|
When Doctor Who first came to the Scifi channel, I had never seen any DocWho or barely ever heard about it. But as soon as I watch an episode, I fell in love with the show.
And boy did I love the Doctor. Christopher Eccleston did such a great job playing the Doctor, I couldn't believe he was leaving the show after one season. I didn't think I was going to like David Tennant as the Doctor, but he has not disappoint me at all.
Even though Chris (9) will always be the Doctor that made me fall in love with Doctor Who, I prefer David (10) as the Doctor. He is absolutely brilliant.
So which one of the new Doctors is your favorite?

To tell the truth, I honestly can't decide. Chris Eccleston made such an impact when he first arrived as the Doc, he really did bring new life to the show and made it great again. But then again, David Tennant has proved himself a worthy successor to the Tardis. He just brings so much energy to the role that it's a joy to watch him. He just enjoys every minute of it and it translates in his performance.
To answer your question, it beats the hell out of me.

I think we are on season 28 now, around that number, the only scifi show to last longer than stargate I think (star trek doesn't count as they were different series)

We're on season 30 now Nik, 31 with the new season. That's counting the 1996 Doctor Who Movie as a season of course. It's a bit of a grey area. Paul McGann is officially the 8th Doctor, however he only really made one screen appearance. So it really depends on what context you view his tenure as the Doc.

McGann threw me for a loop 'cause I didn't know he existed ... which is why I've always been a doctor behind with the new ones, lol.
Um, ooh, tough choice. I got hooked on the old ones and got really excited when the new ones arrived, so Chris really did wonders for me. He gave it that new feel it needed to do well these days. On the flip side, David brings so much charisma to the character. You can't ignore it.
So, like Seffy, I'm stumped. Can't pick a fave to be honest, not when I really think about it. It's like treason to choose one over the other right now.

Chris was the one that was on when I started watching Doctor who so he is the one is look to.
But when he changed I cried and then when I saw David start acting I feel in love with him as the doctor.
David is my fav but I will never foget Chris

David Tennant is my favorite new Doctor as he's "my" doctor (As in the very first one for me). I had seen several of the classic series episodes before (My father and best friend being fanatics) but I only started watching every episode as a fan with David Tennant, then went back and watched Eccleston and the classic series doctors.

well, when I first saw the new series, I thought chris was amazing, and was sad when they changed him to david, and the first impression wasn't very good, but now I love him and it's hard to choose a favourite

I love Chris, he's the first one I saw, but David's version of the Doctor has really grown on me. It's hard to decide but I would go for 10. He's more laid-back yet when he gets angry, don't mess with him. The 10th Doctor shows more emotion, especially at the end of season 2 and in parts of 3. (He cries in the end of Doomsday and almost at the end of the Runaway Bride when he answers Donna's question with Rose's name.) But they are both brilliant!
