Generation 5- Peter Davison |
|
Peter Moffett was born on 13th April 1951 in London. He changed his last name to Davison after discovering that, not only was there another actor named Peter Moffett, but a Director as well.
He first made his name playing Tristan Farnon in the popular TV series All Creatures Great And Small which were based on the books by James Herriot. He married American actress Sandra Dickinson after they worked together on the sci-fi series The Tomorrow People. They composed the theme tune to the childrens TV series Button Moon and appeared together in the BBC series Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy were he played 'the dish of the day', a cow. Apparently, the Producers thought it was funny that an actor who made his name playing a Vet should appear as an animal.
Peter Davison signed on to play the Doctor in 1981, signing to play the part for a three year period. He decided to leave once his contract was finished after being advised to by Doctor Who number two, Patrick Troughton, in an effort to avoid typecasting. In spite of a few acting roles since leaving Doctor Who in 1984, he has since faded from the public's eye.
However, he reprised his role of Doctor Who for the 40th Anniversary charity special, Dimensions In Time, and has made a number of Doctor Who audio adventures for Big Finish Productions.

*sighs* Peter Davison is the only Doctor from the older series I have seen! Definately my fave, he was so pretty back then, so not how you expected Doctor Who to be!

The other Doctor I'm familiar with, actually. I watched several eps with Davison and I really dig him. He is rather an interesting Doctor, I agree. Certainly lots of fun and not too bad to look at, lol.

Peter Davison was more of an upper class Doctor. He had some good story lines too.
